"Chronicles of Chaos was founded in the Summer of 1995 by Gino Filicetti and Adrian Bromley. Having already sampled the life of an e-zine editor with Loud Lyrix, Gino decided to start a different kind of e-zine that would strive to cut through the bullshit of the music community and provide fans of chaotic music with a true and unbiased opinion of current metal music. Gino turned to Adrian Bromley to get his idea off the ground. Being already involved in the music journalism trade, Adrian provided the magazine with valuable contacts among record labels. It was during a conversation on the phone between Gino and Adrian that the name for this e-zine idea was born. After many attempts at a suitable alliterative title for the 'zine - of which the most famous failure was "The Brutal Bugle" - Gino coined the phrase "Chronicles of Chaos" in a flash of inspiration. The web services of Brian Meloon were requested because of the quality of his own excellent webpage at the time, and so the magazine was born. Chronicles of Chaos #1 featured: 8 reviews of albums that were donated to the magazine by a friend in the business; 3 demo reviews; 1 re-used Fear Factory interview written by Adrian; 1 interview with a local band; and 1 concert review. Chronicles of Chaos #1 was originally sent to a mere 80 readers, but in a short time, the number of readers grew to over 1000. From such meager beginning sprung the dynasty that is now Chronicles of Chaos. After five years of existence, over 50 issues, more than 3000 readers on our mailing list, a countless number of readers browsing our website and 13 people on our full-time staff, Chronicles of Chaos has not lost sight of its roots. The magazine is still completely free of all advertising, freely available to anyone on the internet, and free of all flashy graphics or animation. Chronicles of Chaos' strength is in its writing. From day one, the emphasis has always been on top notch writing and bias-free opinions. As we entered the year 2000, Chronicles of Chaos' website was given a facelift, but our magazine is still the same as it was in 1995. The future looks bright for Chronicles of Chaos. We plan on being around giving you the best of chaotic music reporting for a very long time to come."
