Even with all there vast funding and expertise, do 넴 枋 they really need the help of hackers? HARDLY! As technological advances 넴 枋 are becoming more prevalent at an alarmingly fast pace, many of us fall 넴 枋 by the wayside trying to understand and keep up with those advances. 넴 枋 Those with a natural aptitude are far fewer than those of us who have to넴 枋 struggle through the implications of the technology which has become a 넴 枋 part of the lives of so many. A new world order is evolving right before넴 枋 us and many panic from the implications of that, especially governments 넴 枋 who see their lack of control over this new order as a threat to their 넴 枋 own powers. 넴 枋 넴 枋 One way governments can try to maintain control is to gain the knowledge넴 枋 for themselves and compete for supremacy. One way to gain such knowledge넴 枋 is to recruit from among the very people they villify as dissidents, 넴 枋 namely script kiddies and hackers. Those who can be bought are bought 넴 枋 while the rest are labeled as anti-government and criminals. Okay, so a 넴 枋 hacker can find security holes in Os's and applications that most of us 넴 枋 use on a daily basis. So what... If their purpose was to snoop into 넴 枋 systems why tell about the security breaches that are found? Would you 넴 枋 rather not know who's snooping or could be snooping around in your 넴 枋 system? Invasion of privacy? What privacy? There is none and never has 넴 枋 been. That's an illusion that most of us prefer to live with. Your next 넴 枋 door neighbor probably knows as much about you as you do yourself. And I넴 枋 bet he didn't have to find a security hole in your applications to know 넴 枋 it, either. People tend to forget that if you don't want something to be넴 枋 known about yourself, then the subject matter is best left unsaid to 넴 枋 begin with... because regardless of the medium used to say it, someone 넴 枋 will always know. 넴 枋 넴 枋 Humans are social animals and cannot survive well in isolation. The 넴 枋 script kiddies of today are no different from the young adolescents who 넴 枋 used to peep into girls' windows in the middle of the night, or write 넴 枋 graffitti on walls making a statement of their own, usually to bring 넴 枋 notice to themselves in a world that doesn't spend much time thinking of넴 枋 kids as people, too. In넴 枋 truth today, all the world is a stage as technology has delivered it 넴 枋 into the hands of the masses. 넴 枋 넴 枋 So, why the governmental interference and the ongoing fight for free 넴 枋 speech and the advancement of knowledge? Because the government wants 넴 枋 and must maintain control in order to survive itself. Freedom of speech 넴 枋 itself is an illusion that most journalists have been trying to make a 넴 枋 reality for centuries. As an example, Kennedy vs. Clinton. What's the 넴 枋 difference? (okay, so Monica Lewinski isn't a Marilyn Monroe). The point넴 枋 is one made media headlines while the other did very little except raise넴 枋 a few eyebrows from time to time, neither of which incident would have 넴 枋 any bearing on whether either was capable of leading a nation, but in 넴 枋 the most recent case it did accomplish something: a division within the 넴 枋 ranks of a political party. The story was 'allowed' to become public 넴 枋 knowledge and fanned flames of outrage throughout the nation within some넴 枋 parts of society, while other parts did little more than raise an 넴 枋 eyebrow from time to time. But the division gave another political 넴 枋 faction more power. 넴 枋 넴 枋 The word hacker according to the dictionary basically means a tinkerer 넴 枋 or someone who tinkers. The dictionary doesn't specify a certain thing 넴 枋 a hacker tinkers with. By that definition, many of us in the general 넴 枋 population could be called hackers. The word has become a negative label넴 枋 for a group of tinkerers who happen to be very good at tinkering with 넴 枋 something the general population has little or no knowledge about... 넴 枋 : computers. The word hacker engenders in most people's minds with the 넴 枋 picture of someone sitting in a darkened room nosying around on the net,넴 枋 writing out code to breach the security of countless computers for 넴 枋 nefarious purposes, be it corporate espionage, snooping in someone's 넴 枋 email or whatever. Granted, hackers can do that and more.... but as in 넴 枋 one of my opening statements, so what? Just because you can do something넴 枋 doesn't mean you will or should. It's a matter of choice. Hackers are as넴 枋 much a part of society as any other culture. They have the knowledge 넴 枋 that government wants, to preserve a way of life that is dying. The 넴 枋 governments want control and have none. The media has become little more넴 枋 than a governmental ragbag to cut off the very people who could advance 넴 枋 that knowledge. Very seldom do you see an article about what the culture넴 枋 has done that has advanced knowledge and when there is such an article 넴 枋 it is placed in such a way that it receives very little notice from the 넴 枋 general population. 넴 枋 넴 枋 Such is the way of politics.... divide and conquer. The divisions within넴 枋 the culture itself are a threat as differences in philosophies among the넴 枋 leaders create gaps in the sharing of knowledge while garnering power to넴 枋 each faction for an intercultural war. The only thing left for the 넴 枋 governments to do will be to monitor the war from the outside and woo 넴 枋 contenders with promises of wealth and power, while those who don't 넴 枋 "sell out" are labeled dissidents and criminals. The dissidents and 넴 枋 criminals (usually the notorious script kiddies) are used to fan public 넴 枋 outrage and fear. As public outrage and fear escalates, lines are drawn 넴 枋 in the proverbial sand as factions form to compete with each other for 넴 枋 supremacy. 넴 枋 넴 枋 Remember your history lessons... Lincoln once stated that a divided 넴 枋 nation cannot stand. How so can anything stand divided against itself? 넴 枋 A culture divided becomes a dead culture. There will always be hackers 넴 枋 in one form or another, hiding out in the darkened rooms for fear of 넴 枋 discovery, but will the culture itself survive?
