Save Session As Saves the current settings. You will be prompted with a menu to select the file. Load Clones Load more clones. Unload Clones Unload some clones. Note that you must have at least ONE clone. Exit Take a guess? Bombing, with: Start\Stop Start bombing. Clear Clear the form. Random Subject Sets a random subject. Random Message Sets a random message. Random Insult Opens a new window to let you select an insult. On the form itself, you will find 6 commandboxes. For information about them, refer to previous definitions. Note that if you click on Start, it will change to Stop and if you click on it again, bombing will be aborted. On the form, you will find the following tabs: Mail Properties Allows you to configure the mail properties. Options Allows you to select options regarding the mail. Message Allows you to edit the message body. Log Shows the log. Under the Mail Properties tab, you will find: Domain name: State that your domain name (E.G: microsoft.com) in this. To: Bomb this address. From: Pretend that the mail came from this address. Server: Server to use. E-Mailer: E-Mailer to emulate. Priority This specifies the priority of the message. Not really needed. Most people just ignore it. Carbon copy: This is a list of people who will get the bomb as well. Enter each address on a NEW line. Relays: Total number of relays (including server, excluding you) Under the Options tab, you will find: Number of e-mails: Number of e-mails to send. If you select this, the textbox beside it will be enabled and you have to type in the number of e-mails to send in the textbox. Mail until stopped Keep sending e-mails until you click on the Stop button. If you select this, the textbox beside it will be disabled. Use mass mailing Mass mailing allows multiple mails to be sent with just one mail. It is rather like carbon copy, except that the both mails go to the same e-mail address. Note that mass mailing only works for the primary victim (I.E: those in the carbon copy will not be affected). The box beside the option is to let you specify how many times the mail is to be repeated. It is not advisable to use a value that is too large for some servers may not accept it. Use real IP for mail If this is enabled, Avalanche will attempt to headers get the real IP of fake relay servers and use that instead of a random IP. Note that this will make the phrasing of the headers a LOT slower. Use random insult for If this is selected, the subject you provided subject will be replaced with a random insult. Append random insult If this is selected, the message you entered to message will be appended with a random insult. Randomly frame others If this is selected, the From field will be replaced with random people to frame. File attachment: If this is specified, then the file will be sent along as a file attachment. To open the file browser, double click on the box. Note that since Avalanche sends the file at such a high speed, it is possible that the file is sent before the server is ready to receive it. If this happens the clone would appear to "freeze" and the only way to fix that is to stop bombing and then resume again. In order to prevent data lose, Avalanche will have a pause now and then to let the server catch up. This is normal. However, even with the pause, it is possible that the server miss out on some of the data and thus, the file may not be decodable. Under the Message tab, you will find: Subject: Subject for message. Message: This is the message to send. Under the Log tab, you will find: Messages left: This informs you of the number of messages left to send. If you select Mail until stopped then you will see the total number of mails sent, it will also change to "Message sent:". the Status box This is used to log down anything worth logging. Note that double clicking on this will clear the status box. In the Mailing List Bombing menu, you will find: File, with: Start Start/Stop bombing. Clear Clears everything. Exit Exit mailing list bombing menu. Lists, with: Update Update the mailing list listing. Untag All Untag all the lists. Tag All Tag all the lists. Their functions and usage are described below: EXEname : DUPE.EXE Function: Removes all duplicated lines from a file and the new list is output to a file. Input : Uses : Can be used to check for duplicates in your lists. Notes : If the outputfile already exists, it will be overwritten. T. Notes: If the input file does not exist or the command line is wrong, then the program will quit with errorlevel 1. EXEname : SORT.EXE Function: Sorts a list in ASCII order. Input : Uses : Can be used to sort your lists. Notes : If the outputfile already exists, it will be overwritten. T. Notes: If the input file does not exist or the command line is wrong, then the program will quit with errorlevel 1. Note that in order to save space and MY time, the program uses bubble sort to sort and thus may be a bit slow. EXEname : MLMAKE.EXE Function: Provides an interface for the making of a mailing list. Input : Nothing. Uses : Can be used to make mailing lists. Notes : When you start, the program will prompt for a file to read from. This file must contain the lists supported by the server. The file must have one list on each line. Leading and appending spaces are removed. Also, only the first word will be used. For example: ALIST This is list A. BLIST This is list B. CLIST will be saved as: ALIST BLIST CLIST After you input the file to read from, it will ask you for a file to save to. Note that if this file exists, it will be overwritten. Then it will prompt for the name of the server, just enter the e-mail address of the server. The fourth question is whether the server accepts multiple commands. If you enter a word starting with "n" then it will be taken as a no. Otherwise, it is assumed to be yes. The next question is the format of the command. The last question asks whether the commands should be in the message body or the subject. If the first character of the string you enter is "M" then message body is assumed, else subject is assumed. After that, the list will be made. T. Notes: If the input file does not exist then the program will quit with errorlevel 1. Note that Single Lists are NOT supported. EXEname : SMTPLOOK.EXE Function: Takes in a list of servers and sends an e-mail address an e-mail with one mail using each server. The results are logged in SMTPLOOK.LOG. Input : Uses : Can be used to check for existence of SMTP servers and whether they log IP. Notes : Do not use a large server list. Otherwise, the e-mail address will be bombed. *hint* *hint* T. Notes: The list of servers on the menu will display the remaining servers. As servers are being used, they will be removed from the list. Note that ALL errors will be taken as that the server failed to work. You'll have to manually look through the mails to see whether the servers log IP. However, there are some things that need to be looked at. First off, you must understand the Windows Socket (winsock) structure. If you do, you would realise that it is hard, if not impossible, to spoof. Also, you would realise that most of those e-mail bombers come with a list of SMTP servers. Why? Is it because they are fast? NO! The reason is that they DO NOT LOG YOUR IP WHEN YOU SEND E-MAILS! That is how most windows-based e-mail bombers send "spoofed" e-mails. If you do not belief me, use your local ISP's SMTP server (assuming it logs IP) with the e-mail bomber, or use a normal e-mail program, such as Eudora, and mail using that server. As an example, I quote (upyoursX.doc, paragraph 2): "Now enters Up yours 3.0, as with previous versions you were completely anonymous and had not the fear of getting busted to ward you from completing your task, but now you can also completely spoof e-mail from another individual you hate and pretend you were them while bombing the fuck out of the first guy you hate. this usually ensues a war between the individuals you hate (which is a good thing) and you can aid this via up yours 3." Note the following extracts before you continue. Extract 1: "as with previous versions you were completely anonymous and had not the fear of getting busted" Note especially the word "completely". Extract 2: "spoof e-mail from another individual you hate" I tried the above-mentioned program using a public SMTP server, pobox.org.sg, and the reply (only two lines are listed because they are the important ones and also, my IP is replaced with X's): Line 1: "Received: from x.x.x.x (x.x.x.x [x.x.x.x]) by plato.pobox.org.sg (8.7.6/8.7.1) with SMTP id VAA05050 for ; Tue, 31 Dec 1996 21:33:59 +0800 (SGT)" Line 2: "X-Authentication-Warning: plato.pobox.org.sg: Host x.x.x.x [x.x.x.x] didn't use HELO protocol" Note: The server returned my IP (the IP I sent the mail from) in the mail but it is censored here so as to protect myself. If you do not believe me, feel free to try it out yourself. Looks to me that the method the e-mail bomber used to "spoof" is to NOT use the HELO protocol (which by the way is used to identify a server). Either that or it depends solely on SMTP servers that DO NOT LOG IP. Thus, if you wish to "spoof" e-mails using Avalanche, just use one of the following SMTP servers as your primary server. Cinci.OH.US.StarLink.Org agora.rdrop.com blackmagic.sorcery.net davis.oz.org postoffice.com pt.cyanamid.com relay.net www.iowa.net www.netforward.com Note: It is possible that the servers above changed their SMTP programs, so check it out before using it to bomb! Feel free to send me e-mail on additions for this section. - Announcements - -> I have a new idea. If I set up a mailing list and then subscribe it to all the mailing lists I can find, then the amount of mails it generates will be literally millions. Then, if you subscribe someone to my list, he can get up to 3 mails per day from each of the mailing lists and together, that can amount to 3000-5000 mails per day! However, I would need a e-mail account to run the program from. Therefore, if you have a server and can spare me one, inform me. - Interesting Stuff / Tips / Tricks - -> When you load clones, you are advised to load 1/3 or a close factor of the total number of bombs. This way, the chance of sending more e-mails than specified is lesser. E.G: If you want to send 9 mails, load 3 clones. if you want to send 10 mails, load 2 clones. -> One great way of using Avalanche is to switch it to Mail until stopped mode and then start bombing. Then you can go and have a nap (or hibernate). Better yet, leave it on while you go for that trip around the world you always wanted. -> If you REALLY REALLY need to test out Avalanche on YOUR e-mail address using the Mail until stopped mode, you are advised not to leave it on for more than 1 minute, regardless of the number of clones loaded, if you have a 14.4k or faster connection. Trust me on this one. -> If you want to do major bombing, DO NOT USE YOUR REAL E-MAIL ADDRESS in the From field. This is because most e-mail accounts have a limit of around 2-4 megs and each e-mail is about 1-5k (including headers, etc.). This mean that if you send more than 1000-2000 e-mails, it is highly likely that some of them rebounce. Actually, if you want to do major bombing, it's best to send about 500-1000 mails PER DAY. This way, you will keep the victim's mailbox full of "fan" mail for as long as you keep it up. -> One good way to do continuously bombing without being on-line is: In the From field, put in the victim's e-mail address. Then send a few thousand 5-10k e-mails. When the e-mails rebounce, they will grow larger (due to added rebounce message) and the bigger message will go back to the victim. It will then grow again and go back to the victim. This will continue until the victim manages to clear his mailbox. This trick is especially useful if the victim's mail server is VERY fast. Then, the mail can grow at the rate of more than 1 meg per second! -> A great way to remain completely anonymous is to use the mailing lists bomber and subscribe to all the mailing lists you can find. Then, using the victim's e-mail address, you send mails, that will gurantee flames back, to the mailing lists, such as an entire mail full of vulgarity. After that, the people in the mailing lists will kindly do you a favour by flaming the victim with tons and tons of flame mails. -> Another good way to remain completely anonymous is to put the victim's e-mail address in the "From:" field and then send the mail to a service like ATI or USR's support service. This will make the service send a 5-10k auto reply mail. Great if you know lots of services that auto reply. -> Most mailing lists servers now have a safety protection. That is, when someone signs up for a list, the server will send a mail to the person, giving him full information on how to sign off. This cannot be avoided, however, there is a way to go around the problem. First of all, mail bomb the victim with about 10 very big e-mails. Then, subscribe him. The 10 e-mails will fill up the victim's e-mail quota and thus, he will not be able to receive the server's warnings (I.E: The warning mails will bounce). However, some server programs will keep sending the warning mails until they get through. If you ever find yourself with such a server, you will have to use method 2. First of all, bomb the victim with enough e-mails to fill about half his e-mail quota. Then subscribe him. Let the server have a few minutes/hours/days to process the subscription then bomb the victim till his quota exceeds. That will, when the victim checks his mail, he'll notice the bombs. Hopefully, he will think that all the rest are all bombs and thus delete all the mails immediately without checking, thereby deleting the server's warnings as well. -> Most mailing lists have a command to allow someone to get more information on a list. This information is usually very big, ranging from 10k - 1mb. Now, how do we make use of this useful feature? Well, start the mailing list subscriber, update the list, and then in the Command: field, change the command to: who (gives the names of all subscribers) OR info (gives info on all selected lists) OR help (gives a DETAILED help on the lists) OR index (gives more information on lists) then tag all the lists you want and send. This tip is provided by Webman. Note that not all the commands work for all lists. - Frequently Asked Questions - -> Q: The message left counter is spoilt. When I use the bomber, it doesn't move at all and then suddenly jumps all the way down to 0. A: The counter is NOT spoilt. It is slow at first because before it sends the first mail, it has to initialise the server and this takes time. -> Q: The mailing list left counter is spoilt. When I use the mailing list subscriber, it doesn't move at all and then suddenly jumps all the way down to 0. A: The counter is NOT spoilt. Some list servers supports multiple commands in each mail and thus, all the subscription commands are together so only one mail is needed. -> Q: When I start Avalanche, it says that I do not have some of the files. Where can I get them? A: You should be able to get ALL the files required by Avalanche at my homepage. If you can't, leave me a message. -> Q: Windows reported that I have a "device unavailible" error. What should I do? A: Your copy of winsock.dll is not compatible with Avalanche. Get a new one. Note that the copy of winsock I am using is the one supplied with Windows 95. -> Q: The clones keep connecting and reconnecting without bombing. What is wrong? A: When the clones encounter ANY error when bombing, they will disconnect and reconnect and try again. If the error doesn't lie with the connection but with your provided information, then the clones will keep disconnecting and reconnecting until you stop them. Common errors inlude: 1. The relay is too large. Try making it smaller. 2. The server is down or does not accept e-mails from your IP. 3. The server is too slow. 4. The server is faulty. 5. There is a connection problem. 6. Your copy of winsock is not compatible with Avalanche. 7. You do not have enough memory. 8. The victim's e-mail is on the server, but the server cannot locate the victim's account. 9. There is an error with one of the relay servers. 10. The message is too long. -> Q: When I start the program, Windows 95 says that the language file is missing and refuses to run the program. A: This is quite a common problem. There are 2 solutions I can think of. They are: 1. Install Visual Basic 4.0. Once installed, VB4 will set the language.dll option in your win.ini. 2. Set the language.dll option yourself. An easy way to do this is to run setup, change the language to something else. Then save the new settings. After that, if you want the language to be the old one, then run setup again and change it back. Note that this is not guranteed to work, but it worked for me. -> Q: I subscribed my favourite victim to 1000+ mailing lists on a single mailing list server. However, he only receives 8 to 10. How come? A: Some mailing lists (especially listservs and majordomos) have a built-in feature to reject subscriptions if a certain e-mail address subscribes for more than 8 to 10 mailing lists in a short period of time. The only way around this is to use multiple mailing lists servers or subscribe the victim slowly. -> Q: The new feature of Avalanche (multiple connection processors) does not make the bombing faster at all. How come? A: The old version of Avalanche process server connections in with an endless loop, checking ALL the clones one at a time. This is quite economical on memory and will be relatively fast if the server is slow. However, if the server is fast, the loop can only process ONE connection at a time and thus slows down the rest of the clones. However, with the new multiple connection processors, one loop is created for every clone. Therefore, more memory is required. However, more processors mean that the loops only have to attend to one clone each and thus, data can be processed almost immediately when it is received. There is however, one drawback. Under Windows 3.x, the loops CANNOT process simultaneously. Instead, the loops tackle each clone one after the other. This is still faster than using one loop, but the difference is too insignificant to realise. If, however, the program is running under Windows 95, the loops will be able to process data almost simultaneously. This will greatly increase the speed of data processing and can speed up the bombing (on a fast server) by up to 10-20%. That is, IF there are more than one clone. If you are using one clone, there is only one loop running and thus, the speed is the same. - Others - -> This area is closed until someone posts me something to say.
