--=SorcereR=-- PASSGRAB 1996 v1.0 12/11/96 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Included within this zip file is the first, basic version of my PassGrab program. What this program does is to hopefully retrieve a users password, by prompting them to type it in, in a convincing manor. Usually the people in charge of some of the networks/workstations only have the knowledge they have been taught in their training, so when they see this screen they haven`t seen before it just looks like normal dos, but with an error and asking them to type in their user name and password. This program won`t work when experinced people see the screen since they would have more knowledge of the system, but give it a whirl. You never know. Once the user has entered their details the details are saved into two separate files, one called pass.txt and the other called log.txt. Although they appear to be text files, if you open them when they contain data they appear blank because the data is in an unrecognizable form. So then how do I retrieve the user name and password? Easy, run the program again but this time at the dos prompt type in show this will display the details of the last user! Installation: ------------- Extract the files to any drive or directory and run the passgrab program, simple as that! New Features In v1.1 -------------------- Hide the log.txt and pass.txt files with the attrib command Let the user decide where to save the files and what drive the program quits to Dos commands, eg. dir, mem etc... to make it more convincing Save loads of user names and password and not just the last one Some others things I haven`t yet thought of! Please e-mail me to give me any ideas about what to put into the next version. The latest version of this program and loads of other hacking, phreaking, demos, PSX stuff can be found on my home page!
